Meets weekly September 12th - October 31st, 2019

Instructor: Amy Manson

Did you know that beautiful and functional ceramics can be made simply without using the pottery wheel? With this ancient art form, the possibilities are endless.

Discover what you can create with a few simple hand building techniques and learn the most current and creative ways to work with slabs, coils and molds to create plates, vases, tiles, butter dishes and more.

Experiment with a wide range of color and texture using slips, stains and glazes to decorate your ceramic creations. Individual and group discussions will help guide you as your ideas and creativity develop.

$200, plus $30 for clay, glazes and kiln firings.

8 week session - If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, they will be added to the end of the session. The Clay and Metal Loft follows Loudoun County Public School closings.


Class fee includes 12 open studio hours and (1) 25 lb. bag of clay. Additional clay can be purchased. All Glazes and Kiln firings are included in the price of class.

Class Attendance Policy: If you need to miss a class, no worries! You can do up to 2 make up classes during other scheduled classes and open studio.
